20, 30. 40…
Per rs, I have to write an entry about the differences between single, attached and married woman. For those that have been reading my blog, perhaps you can recall that I’ve written something similar previously – Unmarried Women are Hard to Work with.
20 – twenties are associated with the terms “swinging singles”, “SPG”(sarong party girls), “anorexic”, etc. ok these are not so good examples... they are (or they believe they are) princesses living in the modern world, waiting for princes riding their white horses to sweep them off their feet. They believe in true love, love at first sight and never ending love. Dream on ba.
30 – women in thirties are, I believe, at a not too old and yet not too naive age. I’ll say that they are the group that’s adequately seasoned. Well seasoned enough to know exactly what they need/want and have the means to achieve it. After spending ten years or so waiting for their prince charming, they finally realize that they aren’t coming anymore… it’s their turn to play around. Who says women cannot play around? (20-40 something men are all within their fishing range haha the more the merrier sia) They are successful independent and feel like they could own the whole world and can backpack anywhere – alone. BUT when they are in their late thirties, the societal pressure begin the sink in… mothers, relatives will be constantly arranging XXX, YYY and ZZZ for matchmaking sessions. Anyway, if nothing goes wrong, women, before hitting the 4-something should get married (by Singapore/Chinese standards).
40 – so now that women are in their forties, their meaning of achievement takes on a very different shape. (if she is married) Their achievements will be based on: the “quality” of their kids, the cleanliness of their home, etc. The conversations they will have perhaps will be still about current affairs just that it will be about the current affairs of their family and 38 news found in 八卦杂志… And if women are still single by this age, well, I don't see there’s any wrong with it… but deepest sympathy la… my suggestion is: immigrate ba.
